The demolition of the back part of the house is complete. There were definitely some serious structural problems with the back section of the house, so I am glad we decided to pull it down and start over. The foundation was an interesting combination of loose rocks, cinder blocks and cement.
Here are a couple of before and after pictures....
We were able to save a whole bunch of lumber, including the posts that formed the frame of the back section of the house.
Although some of them have some nails in them.
The next step is to meet with the engineers to take a look at the framing that we have exposed with the demo. The electrician is also planning on stopping in this week to assess the old wiring and to disconnect anything that needs to be pulled.
