Foundation!

The crew started to install the forms this last week.

The forms were set, and we were ready to pour the foundation.

The weather turned nasty on Thursday, but apparently that is fine for the cement. The crew was not very happy, but the cement pour went great.

They started to pull the forms on Saturday,

and voila we have a foundation!

The old walls meet the new walls, and the corner of the house gets some much needed support.

This coming week, the foundation gets spray sealed on Monday and then back filled on Tuesday.  Next step is replacing the beam that spans the opening to the basement and framing the wall just above the opening to the basement, so that we start to build the floor for the new addition.
