I know it has been a while, so I will try to get caught up as quickly as possible. My primary builders basically bailed out on me a month or so ago. Our subs are all still in line, but there is a lot of carpentry that needs to be done before the subs can take over.
I was able to get our "do anything", handy man, Marty to give me a hand for the last couple of weeks. We were able to frame all of the window frames and all of the other outside walls that needed work. Here is a picture of the front of the house with all of the windows framed:
We rented a 40' boom lift and we covered the whole house in house wrap, and we installed all of the windows....well, almost all the windows. I realized that I only ordered one the small windows in the attic instead of two. We also found a crack in the exterior frame of one of the triple windows. Anderson Windows decided to replace the entire unit for us, but it is going to take three weeks to get the windows. Here is a couple pictures of the house with its new windows:
Also, I forgot to mention that the roof and the rake boards are done. We hired someone to come in and finish up the roof, and they did a great job. The house is wrapped, the roof is on, and the windows are in. We are pretty set for the winter, but it would be great to get the siding on soon. We already reinstalled the old front door with the original hardware and we also ordered the rest of the doors and their hardware. We should get the door in the next week or two, and then we can start on the siding.
In the mean time, we are going to continue to work on the structure of the house and the interior framing. We start on reinforcing the substructure of the first floor tomorrow.
